I took a small break from crafting in April just so I could get my Retail Store & Studio Opened up and also get my Online Shop up and running. I did have some orders to fulfil before I opened up my physical store on Easter Saturday and I also had to make a Stock of Box Frames for the shop and since opening I am constantly having to replenish the stock which is such a great complaint to have! I have also received quite a number of Christmas orders already (yes I just mentioned the ‘C’ word!!) but it is never too early to order for Christmas as I can make these all year round. Just to note my current turnaround time on Box Frames is 1 week and on wooden gifts is approximately 3-4 weeks.
I did not have a Reloved by Jessica Blog Post for April as my website was under construction for my new Online Shop, however I did Relove 2 pieces of Furniture for my new Retail Store. I bought the Kitchen Dresser on Done Deal and freshened her up with Rust-Oleum Universal All Surface Paint in Rose. I was lucky enough that the Counter was left behind in the Shop so I used Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Duck Egg to bring her back to life!
On Easter Saturday the 15th April, I opened the doors of Jessica Loves… Gifts & Homewares Retail Store & Studio at 105 North Main Street, Youghal, Co. Cork. You can read all about my Rebrand and the Shop Makeover here. The first month has gone so well and I really hope it continues as I have my eye on lots of new pretty things and even some Christmas stock already!!!
Working from Home definitely has its perks, however, having a separate place to work has given me some work/life balance back. Since all my craft supplies are in my Studio, I cannot be working late into the evenings anymore. Home feels like Home again and I can now have guilt free Days off because I no longer feel I should be staying at home catching up on orders in the Craft Room!
With all the lovely weather in April, we got to spend a lot of Family Days exploring and making memories, here’s hoping it continues!
Thanks for stopping by x
