LIVING ROOM BEFORE
Now that I am back working from home again and spending a lot more time around the house, I’m starting to see all the Interior changes I could be making to ReLove each room – great to keep my creative mind alive but not so great for the Hubby’s Bank Balance!! I don’t really have expensive taste though (despite what Eoghan might say!) so I always try to aim for Big Improvements on a Small Budget! With the Living Room, I was getting tired of all the grey and wanted to brighten things up and give the room a more Coastal feel, seeing as though we live right near the Beach.
I got a long time out of these Grey Walls and just by changing up some accessories like curtains, cushions, flowers, candles etc. I managed to have a few different schemes over the few years.
I had a Yellow/Grey theme at one stage in the Spring Time & then changed it up to a Pink/Grey theme coming into the Autumn time. I even bought some pink Christmas Decorations for the Tree to match!
LIVING ROOM AFTER
I picked up some Paint Colour Charts and decided on Nordic Breeze by Dulux for all the walls. I would never normally go for a Blue as I feel it can be a bit cold, but I love the freshness that this gives to the room. As you can see, I painted the Fireplace (again!) with Hornblower by Frenchic and I also plan to paint the Coffee Table the same, changing the Ceramic Knobs to these one below.
I have my eye on this Rug from Ikea to finish off the room as it’s only €55! I’ve seen some really nice ones that would be amazing here but they are very expensive…
Cushions are from Dunnes Stores – €10 for the larger Navy ones and €6 for the Patterned ones.
I sanded the fireplace and washed down with sugar soap to prep, painted 2 coats of the Frenchic Hornblower and Sealed with a layer of Finishing Coat to protect it and give it that sheen.
Candles and Navy Trim Picture Frames are also from Dunnes Stores.
Blue Flowers are €3 each from Dunnes Stores. They have long stems so I folded them up to fit in my Ikea Plant Pots.
So that’s my little Makeover on a Budget for this Room. It’s not completely finished yet (when are we ever done with a Room?!!) but I’m very happy with how it turned out.
Thanks for stopping by x
