There’s nothing I love more than to spend my ‘Chill’ time browsing through Pinterest for interior design inspiration for my own Home. So when I received the new eBook below created by Chill Insurance exploring some unusual and cutting edge homes from the around the World, it got me thinking about what my Dream Home would look like and also what Home actually means to me.
My Home is my Haven and my Happy Place is my Couch above!! I love that feeling of relaxing after a long day of Crafting and School Runs. Cuddling up with my family, watching a movie, writing, planning crafts ideas or plotting my next Interior Design project for my Home – that is #whathomeistome
If you been following me for a while you will know I’m all about ReLoving my Home and as Interior Design Styles are constantly changing and evolving, I often get bored of my own Home. So in order to keep up with the latest Trends, I like to change things up with different throws, cushions and curtains for each season. I also like to update and paint my furniture which brings a fresh new look to a room. I recently painted my Kitchen Units a dark Grey, just the bottom ones though and while some people might think this is a bit weird, I think it’s kind of wonderful!! I didn’t want to darken the whole kitchen by painting all the units so I created a Two-Tone effect instead. Just by freshening up my lower units and corner bench, I gave the room a whole new cosier look I think, while still keeping it bright and lets face it – more practical with two small kids and dirty handprints!!
Of course if I had thousands to spend I would do so much more than just painting or changing cushions! My Dream Home would consist of a Grand Entrance Hallway with a sweeping staircase creating the perfect space for a Giant Christmas Tree!! I would have an Open Plan Kitchen/Living Area with access to the Garden, a Mud Room/Utility Room, a much Bigger Room for my Studio, a Larger Dressing Room/Walk in Wardrobe, a Big Play Room for the Kids and I would Love a Fireplace in the Bedroom, like what a luxury!! Would that be Weird or Wonderful?!…
Which one was your favourite?! I think mine would have to be Drummond Castle, I would love a good nose around inside there!! Can you believe only 7% of respondents said decor is what makes a house a home? I thought that would be much higher… but I am a bit interior obsessed! Are you in the 24% bracket who said they have no idea what is covered by their home insurance? Maybe now is a good time of year to review your Home Insurance with all the extra valuables and gifts in the house coming up to Christmas.
So after sharing what home means to me, I’d love to know what home means to you? Why not join in on the conversation by following the hashtag #whathomeistome so we can all share our Weird and Wonderful ideas!
